Who can submit a review article

It is our editorial policy to publish only invited review articles in the field of relativity.

Submission checklist

Before submitting, please check:

Article

  • The personal information on the title page is correct and complete (you can include the URL of your home page).
  • There are no footnotes within tables.
  • You provided keywords describing your article.
  • You received written permission by authors and publishers for included visual material.
  • You are giving proper credits in figure or movie captions.
  • You referred to and cited related Living Reviews articles whenever appropriate and helpful for the reader.

Article Update

  • Include a short summary describing the changes and additions with respect to the previous version.

Bibliography

  • Each reference has an entry type (e.g. article, inproceedings, thesis).
  • Each reference has a title if the particular entry type requires it.
  • Where possible, references have a link to an open access onlineversion (for example arXiv).
  • You are not cross-referencing within the reference list.
  • You cited all of the included references somewhere in your article.
  • You provided keywords for all of your references.

Files

Check that your files are complete:

  • LaTeX source.
  • BibTeX file (unless you included the references in LaTeX).
  • Any accompanying figures, movies etc.

How to submit

There are two ways of submission. You can submit

  • by FTP,
  • by email.

If you submit by FTP, please notify the Managing Editor at editorlr<at>aei.mpg.de of the submission. They will then collect it.

Submitting using FTP:

  1. Send an e-mail to the Managing Editor at editorlr<at>aei.mpg.de.
    Include the following information:
    • The date on which you submitted.
    • A list of the files you submitted.
  2. Issue the ftp command:
    ftp ftp.aei.mpg.de
  3. Login with the username:
    anonymous
    or
    ftp
  4. Use as password a valid e-mail address.
  5. Change to the incoming directory using the command:
    cd incoming
  6. Create a directory using the command mkdir. Use as directory name your lastname and the year of submission, e.g.
    mkdir yourname2004
  7. Change to this directory using the command:
    cd yourname2004
  8. Make sure FTP is used in ‘passive’ mode. You can turn the passive mode on and off by typing
    passive
  9. Deposit your files using the command:
    put filename
  10. Quit FTP using the command:
    quit

Reminder: Please, do not forget to notify the Managing Editor at editorlr<at>aei.mpg.de of your submission by sending an email containing the submission date and the names of the files you are submitting.

Reminder: We encourage you to post your article prior to publication on arXiv with a comment that it will be published in Living Reviews in Relativity.
